Beads cast on and cookied......
Have been wanting for a long time to cast on "Odessa" by Grumperina but I had a hard time finding just the right beads and yarn. At Gail Knits in Las Vegas I found the most gorgeous beads and then I just had to go with one of my absolute favourites in yarns: Mille Colori from Lang.
The pattern is fairly easy and easy to remember - I think the hardest and most time consuming part was to get all the beads on to the yarn.
This afternoon Isabel and I decided to make another batch of cookies since teh ones we made last week and were meant for Christmas has somehow already vanished....... Just to stay in the beads "spirit" we choose to do some rally good lemon-cookies with lime frosting and silver sugar-beads. And here is the result - yummy!

Damson on needles while King Winter drops by
We had a really warm November here in Denmark, but then all of a sudden the weather changed and King Winter and Jack Frost came hand in hand and snow fell from the skies like we hadn't seen for years. 65 cm in one night - traffic chaos and schools closed. Usually when it snows here, it melts away in a couple of days or it turns in to a brown, disgusting "molassis" - well, now 4 days later, the landscape is stille white and very "Christmasy". Hope it stays that way next week. Would be cool to actually experience a white Christmas.
In between all the work, I also had time to knit a bit. I checked out Ravelry for cool patterns to some of the great yarns that I bought in Vegas. It's really cool to just browse between hundreds of really nice projects for patterns.
I found the Damson that would go really great with my Misti Alpaca yarn.
And this is how it turned out.

Winding Weekend
Borrowed my mother in law's yarn winder and skein holder for some of my wonderful Las Vegas yarns. Was really looking forward to wind up all my new skeins... and wupsi daisy it was all over in 5 minutes.... Hmpf!!! I love the winder... but... I wanted the experience to last longer...
No just kidding. But I couldn't believe how fast a skein of 100 grams winds up to a itsy bitsy ball. Great invention.
Buuut we also had time to do some Halloween pumpkins.
Oh - and by the way.... they also let me knit on the way home in the plane... 5 knitting needles and all.....
Gail Knits in Las Vegas and so do I..........
Mmmmmm.
I know I already came home from Vegas, but I have a lot of updating to do. I gave up in the rented house 'cause the Internet connection was SO slow.... On my yarn hunt I found Gail Knits which is a really cosy store with a lot of knitting happy ladies having a super time knitting and drinking coffe. They also had a load of beautiful, gorgeous yarns. I'm really excited about the colorway of Fame trend from Marks and Kattens.
When I wasn't shopping, I found time to do some knitting by the pool (with a margarita by my side - yummy)

Wooly Wonders in Vegas
Is there anywhere in Las Vegas where you can buy great yarn? - Does anyone in this desert town knit at all???
I found this knitting store Wooly wonders that had all these beautiful, gorgeous yarns. The store was really cosy and the service excellent. It had a long table where people can sit and knit. It actually seemed like both a nice knitting meeting place as well as a great yarn store.
So far the blue yarn from Misti Alpacca is my favourite. Alpacca and silk in the most beautiful colours. Amazingly soft....

Knitting in the air
We left for vacation in Las Vegas - and I was eager to find out if the airline would let me knit in the air. I checked out SAS' homepage and knitting needles is actually on the list of approved items in carry-on luggage - but I also had to go through security and maybe they didn't share the SAS policy.
But I was let on the plane and knitted almost the entire trip :-)

no name bags
Stitched up some more bags, several has already been sold - before I even got around to take pictures......
The red fabric inside is just gorgeous...
.... and we cross our fingers that Obamas landing in Copenhagen doesn't mess up airtraffic over Denmark too much, since hubby, Isabel and I are leaving for a 3 week vacation friday -it would sooooo annoying if we don't catch our connecting flight in Washington - well we can always try and catch a lift with Air Force One since it's going the same way 20 min. later than planned departure of our flight. hmmmm already smells like delay!

I have complained for a long time, that I didn't have a decent tea pot, but then my mother showed up with this wonderful English tea pot, that she found at a flea market. The problem nowis that is actually too fine to take into use......
I did actually manage to finish a project this evening. A vest for my nephew. I have to wash it and press it, but it will hopefully be mailed tomorrow. The pattern is from Hendes Verden (issue???) and the yarn is pure cotton from Hjertegarn.
Super Size Me Scarf
A long time ago I bought just one mega skein (200 gr) of New York from Hjertegarn. I cast on 12 stiches on needle no. 20 and rush through a mega scarf. My daughter is absolutely certain that the scarf is for her - we'll have to see how it fits....

Pang sokker
Haven't had the opportunity to blog much the past weeks, haven't had time to finish any projects either - probably goes hand in hand.
I did cast on these neon winter socks for Isabel and since I hate knitting with size 2½ needles, it is double threaded sock yarn on needles 3½. Thick, warm socks....

Pattern for circular needle holders
I have tried making a pattern for the Circular Needle Holders - and I don't know if anyone can understand a thing I wrote. I would have loved to add little drawings to make it easier to understand, but I didn't know how..... If you want to have a go at it, but don't understand the pattern, let me know
IT'S ALIIIIVE!
The Beast from the closet was brought out. Underneath all the dust and spiderwebs there was a machine - a machine that still works...... The last week of my vacation was spent making this dress for Isabel:
A bag for me:
And a pile of bags for circular knitting needles. My knitting basket is all neat and very not-a-mess right now.....
Maybe I really should try and get a pattern togehter for these......

Went to the sea with Isabel - it was wonderful even though it was too cold to jump in.
Look at the beautiful autumn colours you can find by the water in the middle of summer :-)

Tunikaaaahhh!
Wam bam thank you cotton balls - doesn't sound just as catchy, but this tunic knits up in no time - and voila a new summer blouse for the girl. Now all that is missing is a little sunshine......

Wam bam thank you lamb!
Emma on the loose....
Emma Peel now has loose ends because I ran out of yarn right before the dress was finished - due to the error in the book I purchased wrong amount of skeins!!!!
But thanks to my extensive yarn stash and the wonderful Danish summer there is no rason to get bored. New project is cast on right away. Tunic from Garnstudio in Muskat for my daughter Isabel.

Viva la Bam og Emma
Emma Peel kinda went into hibernation, but it's vacation time and the needles have been picked up....
I have long wanted to knit Insaknitty's Wam bam thank you lamb! Not really a summer project.... but with the pace I'm keeping, I might just finish before the first snow falls....
And months passed by.....
